The ISWNE Foundation is planning an online silent auction! Anyone can donate items, whether or not you will be attending the virtual conference. The link to donate an item is:

Because this is an online auction, anyone can bid onlineeven if you won’t be part of the virtual conference. Bidders create an account the first time a bid is placed. Simply click on the item(s) you wish to place a bid, then you’ll see an option to create an account on the checkout page. You will need to provide your first and last name, email, credit card and establish a password. The system will remember your information and you won’t need to sign in again.

Unlike an in-person silent auction, you will not be able to see who you are bidding against. When placing a bid, you will have an option to set a regular bid or place a maximum bid. When you set a max big, bids will automatically be placed on your behalf to outbid new bidders. Bidders’ maximum bids will not be visible to other bidders.

Past in-person auction items are as varied as the people who brought them. Some previous items included books, wine, beer, hand-made items, vacation packages and even a Green Bay Packers excursion. This year, we’re suggesting electronic gift cards to avoid shipping.

Please donate your item(s) by June 14 using the link: (follow the prompts with information about your item including the approximate value, and upload image(s) – up to four). You can use your own image(s) or use images found in Google or other platforms. If you donate an item, please indicate if you’re willing to ship your item and to what countries (include your email address and telephone number).

You can also make bids online using the link:

Bidding ends at 10 a.m. (CST) on Saturday, July 17, 2021. Winners’ credit card will automatically be charged using the name of “BetterWorld.”

If you prefer not to bid, you can also make a donation directly to the Foundation at:

Proceeds from the silent auction go help the ISNWE Foundation pay for members from around the world to attend conferences. They also allow students to gain valuable journalism experience by working in members’ newsrooms.
